Resolume is outstanding at what it was built for: live visual performance. VJs and media-server operators use its layers, effects, mapping and audio-reactive engine to build shows for concerts, clubs and events. Because it can output to anything that accepts video — LED processors included — it often becomes the first tool a venue tries on a perimeter band.
A sports venue, though, is not a concert. The perimeter is sold inventory: sponsors bought timed slots, moments must cut in instantly when the match demands it, and the commercial team needs evidence of what ran. Those are playout problems, not performance problems — and they are what a dedicated perimeter player is built around.

When Resolume is the right choice
Keep Resolume when the job is creative: concerts and halftime shows with live-mixed visuals, projection mapping, effect-heavy productions, or any event with a skilled operator behind a console. On those jobs a playlist engine would feel like a straitjacket.
When a perimeter player is the right choice
Choose a dedicated player when the band is advertising inventory: the show must run itself for ninety minutes, cut-ins must be one click for a non-technical operator, and every exposure must land in a sponsor report afterwards.
