Colorlight supplies the control electronics — sending and receiving cards, video processors — found inside LED installations across the price spectrum, which makes it a frequent sight in mid-size stadium and sports-hall perimeter projects. The panels may carry another brand entirely; the signal path is Colorlight. For the venue, the operational question is the same as with every chain: what runs the sponsor show?
The chain on a Colorlight-driven band
LedPlayMeter player → playout PC → Colorlight processor → receiving cards → panels
- Commissioning (once): the integrator maps and calibrates the screen with Colorlight's own configuration tools, fixing the input resolution the processor expects.
- Every event after: the playout PC feeds that input. LedPlayMeter renders the band's exact pixel dimensions and loops the show; to the processor it is simply a video source.
What the software layer adds
- Auto-fit media library — sponsor videos and stills normalized to the band, single row or line-wrap.
- Playlists, scenes and quick actions — rotation plus one-click goal, time-out and substitution cut-ins.
- Live brightness and ticker without interrupting playback.
- Proof-of-play — timestamped logs, per-sponsor reports for the commercial team.
- Offline operation and a one-file backup that moves the setup between PCs.
Division of labour with Colorlight tools
Colorlight's utilities configure and diagnose the hardware; they are install-time tools, not match-day operations software. The playout layer — content, rotation, live moments, reporting — belongs to the player, independent of the panel or card brand. See software vs. hardware controllers for the full picture.
